D'Arcy
Philip
Gray grew
up
in
rural Nova Scotia, attended McGill
University and the Juilliard School and is now a most versatile
percussionist and electronic musician. Recent solo projects have taken
him to Amsterdam, Toronto, Columbus GA and Nashville. Throughout his
career he has premiered numerous solo percussion works. In the past,
Gray has taught percussion and music technology courses at McGill, been
a member of the Merce Cunningham Dance Company and has performed with
the Montreal Symphony and the National Arts Centre Orchestra of Canada.
He has written a number of articles on percussion and electronic music,
most recently for the Leonardo Music Journal. D’Arcy Philip Gray is a Yamaha
Clinician and a Sabian Artist.

Andrew
Reed Miller founded
Motion
Ensemble
in 1998. Andrew is principal bass of Symphony
NB, Atlantic
Sinfonia, and is a
faculty member of the NB Youth
Orchestra and Sistema NB
organization. Andrew's principal
mentors were David Currie in Ottawa
and Joel Quarrington in
Toronto. He has played with The Canadian Opera Company, the National
Arts Centre Orchestra and the Royal Winnipeg Ballet. Miller has written
music for orchestra, dance, chamber music, film, theatre, performance
art and installations. Miller lives in Fredericton and is a proud father.
Andrew is an advocate of 5ths tuning and uses a bow made in 1990 by Reid Hudson
and a bass (2001) by Masa
Inokuchi.
Andrew is the host of Re:Sound,
a weekly show on community radio CHSR 97.9
FM.
He also teaches courses in the audio engineering department of
the Centre for Arts and
Technology.

Nadia
Francavilla, a well-known
performer of new music, lives in Montreal and plays with Bozzini Quartet and Ensemble Kore.
Nadia studied violin with Mauricio Fuks at McGill University. She has
been awarded the McGill chamber music prize, the CIBC Festival prize,
and has attended the Tanglewood Festival. She has performed around the
world with such ensembles as Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal
and le Quatuor
Arthur-LeBlanc.

Helen
Pridmore has performed across Canada and the USA as
soloist and chamber musician. Her interest in new music has
resulted in many performances and premieres of works by Canadian and
American composers, including Helen Hall, Tim Brady, W.L. Altman, Jim
O'Leary, Randall Snyder, and more. Helen has recorded for CBC
Radio and Albany Records. Born in England, she studied music in
Canada and the USA, earning a doctorate at Eastman where she studied
with Carol Webber. More recently she has studied extended vocal
techniques with Joan La Barbara. Helen teaches voice at Mount
Allison University in Sackville, NB.

Richard
Hornsby studied
clarinet at the University of Toronto and
Indiana University. Richard is Director of Music at the University of
New Brunswick, and Director of the UNB Music Camp. He has played with
the Toronto, National Arts Centre, Indianapolis and Hamilton
Symphonies. Richard has been heard with the Canadian Saxophone Quintet,
New Music Concerts, and on numerous C.B.C. broadcasts.
He is founder and director of the New
Brunswick Summer Music Festival.

Karin
Aurell
moved to Canada from her native Sweden in
2001. Since then she has become one of Eastern Canada’s most sought
after flutists. She performs regularly with orchestras in the
Maritimes, as well as performing in solo and chamber recitals across
the region. In Sweden, Karin was a member of the Norrkoping Symphony Orchestra,
with
which
she toured extensively through Europe, and recorded on the
BIS and CPO labels Karin has She has performed and recorded with Trio
Arkaede (with violinist Isabelle Fournier and pianist Julien Leblanc).
